If I need to play a draw or a fade I can also do that easily with this club. Prior to buying this club, I had been playing a Titleist k. Mens Left Hand Shaft: Bit as i found it inconsistent i decided to stay with my TopFlite Gamer 3 wood of the tee. Our current stock Sort results by Price high to low Price low to high Description. This club is extremely forgiving.
Just do not try to kill the ball every time, just do a relaxed swing. MOI and redistributing weight low and back are the primary reasons we now have geometrically oriented clubheads in the hibors place. I personally believe the technology in the hibore range is best suited to non-driver woods and hybrids.
There is a “distinct” sound but if all you care about is performance then this might be the one for you. Dang straight and great distance. I’ve only been playing golf for about 2 years and still consider myself a learner, then again aren’t we all. The only thing about the club is it monxter loud “Bang” when you strike the ball.
The driver has a far less traditional look than other Cleveland hiboore but the muted colour scheme means it looks and feels quite comfortable as you address the ball. Sneak Peek: Cleveland Hi-Bore MONSTER Driver!
I did open the club face on a couple of drives and sliced the ball, probably about 10 to 15 yds off the target, but that was user error and not the club.
And remember, this was not the Monstwr Draw. After a dozen more swings at the range and re-positioning myself, I started hitting consistent high and straight drives that truly felt effortless. I quickly concluded that Cleveland did not have anything like a draw swing in mind when they created the XLS the XLS Tour may be a better match for those who currently hit draws or straight drives with a square or open-faced driver. The clubhead has a unique design with a thin top edge and sloped crown and we like the look of it.
Cleveland HiBORE XLS Driver Review (Clubs, Review) – The Sand Trap
I like the Krank sound much better if I could keep it in play more often. When you lay into a drive My swing closed the face even more, delofting the 9. I was not swing ing well at all and it was cold out to make matters worse.
Unlike the double-faced drivers that a few second-tier manufacturers Bang, among others experimented with a couple years ago, the spines in the XLS run perpendicular to the clubface. Maximum MOI is achieved with weight placed in three optimum perimeteor locations for stability and to maximise ball speed from anywhere on the club face.
The driver was supposed to hit the hiblre high, straight, and long.
My god what a club.
